This module was quite an interesting experience. While memorizing everything was nerve-wracking, it was essential and rewarding in the end. The practical aspects, however, were the real highlight.

One fascinating experiment involved examining our own saliva. We discovered that 25% of the class carried Staphylococcus aureus! This was evident in the results shown in the image above: the Mannitol Salt Agar (MSA) selectively allows the growth of salt-tolerant bacteria, which appear as the yellow areas.

Another intriguing experiment was analyzing a sample from the fingerboard of my violin. To my surprise, it was remarkably clean—only one colony of epidermal bacteria was visible!
